Today’s episode is one that I think will hit home for most of us – battling comparison and finding our definition of success through Christ alone. Jenn Sprinkle shares from her personal journey with:
- battling the productivity and joy stealer of comparison
- inspiring us to instead seek and find joy in what God has for us individually
- helping us to define success biblically
- being fulfilled by our personal and unique purpose, thereby appreciating how we function as the body of Christ.
I know you are going to love her sweet, nurturing spirit as well as her great insight and wisdom.

I also hope you hang onto the end, where I share how Jenn’s conversation impacted me, as well as a conversation I had on an airplane after recording the episodes on sexual addiction.
I know that after listening to it again, I was really challenged to approach my days differently. Even though our topic was about comparison and finding our identity and success in Christ, in reflection, I found myself thinking that heaven is where we rest and rejoice and much of this life on earth can be a battle where daily the anticipated need to change, so I should hold life loosely – not assuming that I know what my future or even my day holds. Instead, I need my mornings to be seeking and listening to allow God to bring new directions and events. Weird take away, I know, but I am trusting that God is speaking to you individually as well. I would love to hear what you are thinking, so please share with me your thoughts and ideas in the comment section below!
I also wanted to share with you that after recording the last two episodes on sexual addiction, I got on a plane and sat next to a woman whose husband struggled with sexual addiction. I have to say that had I not met Karen and Connie, I would have not only been uncomfortable, but at such a loss for what to say. I fear I would have not only been absent of grace and encouragement, but might have said something hurtful. I share this with you because I am praying that when you hear the hearts of those sharing here on Spark Stories, that you not only see God in a greater way, but that you, like me, are learning to better understand people to give God’s grace and encouragement to them. And that we all are better to reflect the gospel of Christ’s love and sacrifice for others.
